Final Analysis

 13.01
Chris Dolfi | Tom Walls
RB Earnest Graham
QB: Rodgers Hill Pennington RB: Peterson RBrown JJones Hightower Graham
WR: White Evans Avery Ginn Gage
TE: PK: DT:

After the Pennington selection, we did the math and realized we still had a couple wild card spots left. We
could take any position and still meet our requirements for each position.

Tight end is a major need at this point, but everyone left (with the exception of Keller of the Jets) is a Boom or Bust guy anyway. In this format we can take a couple of those guys and hope for the best (not something
either of us would do in a normal pick your starter format).

We liked both Graham and Michael Bush. We feel they both have done enough to get some playing time for their clubs, and with an injury; either player could be a major steal at this point. Graham won out simply
because we feel he has less competition for carries. Graham likely finalizes our RB corps, it’s a solid group with a couple wildcards in Hightower and Graham who could be nice sleepers.

13.02
TC Cannon
R
B Jamaal Charles
QB: Brees  RB: Turner Moreno FTaylor Charles
WR: Fitzgerald SMoss Cotchery Moore Nicks TE: Winslow Shockey PK: DT:

It's a sickness. My sickness. And, I share it with others, too. It is the always present thought that my FF
success is strongly linked to my running backs and it is an acquired belief that I can not shake. While I know
that is not always true, the stigma(?) continues it's hold on me. Silly me.

Yes sir, the resent 12.10 Bradshaw and 13.01 Graham selections stung a bit. I was sure that one or both
would be on this bench. I now know that I could have had a preferred RB over TE Shockey, if I changed my
draft projections. Oh well. Such is life... RB Charles is one of the few remaining rushers expected to have
significant playing time. As a passing-down back, Charles could be a sneaky play throughout the season for the must-pass Chiefs.
I  am (somewhat) glad to give him a weekly opportunity to fill the flex starter role.

13.03

Matt Pitzer
WR Darrius Heyward-Bey (rookie)
QB: Rivers Palmer  RB: Jones-Drew Grant Lewis Norwood
WR: Wayne RWilliams SMoss Curtis Heyward-Bay TE: Olsen PK: DT:

OK, I'll be the sucker for Heyward-Bey. There is a chance this could work out, right? All he needs is a good quarterback and, apparently, some skills. I'll take a chance with a 13th-round pick and my fifth wide receiver that just maybe, this one time, the Raiders know what they're doing. A long shot, I know.

13.04

Greg Kellogg
QB Jake Delhomme
QB: Brady DelHomme RB: Tomlinson Wells DBrown
WR: Owens VJackson Mason SSmith Burleson Britt
TE: Clark  PK: DT::
I missed out on Kyle Orton but still managed to nab a backup quarterback that has no real competition for his starting job.  Plus, Delhomme has Steve Smith to throw to so numbers similar or better than last season's are expected.  With Tom Brady as my first QB, I only need an occasional starter and it doesn't hurt that
Delhomme plays the Cardinals in Brady's bye week.

13.05
Craig Davis
WR Percy Harvin (rookie)
QB: Schaub Cassel  RB: Forte Barber FJones Jackson Maroney

WR: Bowe Edwards Holmes Austin Harvin  TE: Carlson  PK: DT:

13.06

Duane Cahill
WR Bobby Engram
QB: Manning Flacco RB: SJackson Jacobs LJohnson Mendenhall
WR: Royal Ward Crabtree Burress Henry Engram TE: Gonzalez  PK: DT:
Once upon a time, in a land called Kansas City, there lived a strapping young lad named Tony Gonzalez.  Young Tony survived a slew of awful quarterbacks and spent many years as the finest pass-catching tight
end in all the land.  But one day the evil Pioli banished Tony to the land of the Falcon, and the new young quarterback had no one to take his place.

Fast forward to today, when Dwayne Bowe has established himself as a legitimate threat at receiver.  However, the Chiefs no longer have Gonzalez, and I fully expect that the veteran Engram will step in as the
#2 receiver in Kansas City.  While this is the third receiver on my roster whose bye is scheduled for week 8
(along with two of my running backs), I thought that Engram was both a "safe" pick, and one with upside depending on the continued development of Matt Cassel.

Upside with relatively little downside is the perfect recipe for your lucky 13th round pick.

13.07

Tony Holm
WR Jeremy Maclin (rookie)
QB: McNabb Orton Campbell  RB: CJohnson KSmith Thomas McGahee Sproles
WR: CJohnson Bryant Berrian Hixon Maclin TE: Witten  PK: DT::
With no pick in the 14th round due to an earlier trade, I really had to go WR here to fill in the group as I'm not sure what will be left on the bone when we finally get to the 15th.  I debated a couple of guys here including Michael Jenkins who went after my selection but always ended up steering back to Maclin.  Jeremy Maclin is
a rookie, I despise rookies in fantasy, but the Eagles did draft themselves a player who can make things happen.  Maclin is as explosive as they come, a Reggie Bush type player that while is listed as a WR could play several positions and likely will.  I'm hoping for some big days out of Maclin but expect some very small days too.  If he cracks my starting lineup once and a while, he and I will get along just fine.

13.08

Brian Hulett
WR Michael Jenkins
QB: Ryan Bulger  RB: Gore McFadden Stewart McClain
WR: Jennings Marshall Henderson Coles Camarillo Jenkins TE: Cooley PK: DT:
Yeah, I like getting the occasional hookup, although Ryan-to-Jenkins isn't the ideal one.  (Brady-to-Moss in '07 would've made almost any team unbeatable.)  But for purposes of depth, having a solid receiver like Jenkins will do just fine.  God forbid anything happen to Roddy White, but if the unthinkable occurs that would leave Jenkins the #1 wideout on that team, so there is an upside to this pick, however distasteful.  He had 50 catches, 777 yds, and 3 TDs in Ryan's rookie season, and with defenses zeroing in on White & Michael
Turner it would be surprising if Jenkins's numbers went down this year.

13.09

John Georgopoulos
WR Isaac Bruce
QB: Cutler EManning RB: D Williams Portis Lynch R Williams
WR: DJackson Breaston Walter Hester Bruce
TE: Gates PK: DT: PIT
I have to try and get some sort of production out of the WR corps. Had been hoping that one of the rookie
WRs would have fallen here (Nicks, Britt, Harvin or Maclin) or at least Chris Henry, but seems like everyone else had the same idea. So I’ll go with the veteran Bruce and hope he has the occasional 6-catch game. At least he’s a starter…
===================================================================================

13.10

Chris Rito | Mike Nazarek
TE Ravens
QB: Warner Hasselbeck  RB: Westbrook Addai Parker CTaylor
WR: AJohnson Colston Boldin Chambers
TE: Daniels Miller  PK: DT: BAL
It is time to start considering a top-flight defense, and after Pittsburgh there is a group of 4-5 worthy of consideration; in fact, we would have taken the Steelers with our last set of picks if John G had not snagged them right in front of us! The Ravens have consistently been atop the rankings for years, although there is concern about some of the losses the defense have suffered most notably DC Rex Ryan. But there are still three great reasons to believe that this team will continue to be a high-end fantasy performer with consistent scoring and explosive potential: Ed Reed, Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs. A ridiculously easy strength of schedule for 2009 also favors this brutal defense and gives them the slight edge over some other options we considered here.

13.11

Matt Pitzer (via Allan trade)
WR Deion Branch
QB: Rivers Palmer  RB: Jones-Drew Grant Lewis Norwood
WR: Wayne RWilliams SMoss Curtis Heyward-Bay Branch TE: Olsen PK: DT:
I almost took Branch with my last pick and because he still is sitting here, I'll take him now. I know the arrival of T.J. Houshmandzadeh puts Branch in a tight spot, but Branch closed strong last season and has a good chance of grabbing the other starting slot. I don't know that the Seahawks will throw as much as they did in
past seasons under Mike Holmgren but again, I think this pick has reasonable upside for this late.

13.12

Mike Harmon
TE Visanthe Shiancoe
QB: Romo Edwards  RB: Slaton Ward TJones Greene McCoy
WR: Moss Housh Driver Holt Crayton TE: Shiancoe PK: DT:
Shiancoe is a red zone monster, having hauled in seven touchdowns for Minnesota last year. He caught multiple passes in 11 different games and knows how to eat space across the middle.
